DPM: A Measurement System for Distributed Programs

DPM is a system for monitoring the execution and performance of distributed programs. An important characteristic of its design is the simplicity of each part of the design. This simplicity has resulted in a system of tools that has a wide range of applications and that was relatively easy to construct. We start with a simple framework for distributed computation based on message interactions. We use this framework to develop a structure for a measurement tool for distributed programs, implemented for both the DEMOWMP and Berkeley UNIX
